Australian young gun Alex de Minaur has lost a three-set marathon to Feliciano Lopez at the Paris Masters.
The 19-year-old fell 6-7 (7-4) 6-4 7-6 (8-6) in the first round to the 37-year-old Spaniard after spending just under three hours on court one.
After John Millman retired during his first-round match with a back injury, Matt Ebden remains the sole Australian left in the draw and will face Russian Karen Khachanov for a spot in the last 16.
