Murray too good for Matosevic

Australian Marinko Matosevic was outclassed 6-2 6-2 by top seed Andy Murray to bow out of the Queen’s Club tennis tournament on Thursday.

Matosevic had received a free passage into the third round after his second round opponent, Frenchman Michael Llodra, withdrew due to injury.

The Australian world No.65 proved no match for British world No.2 Murray in a match played in front of a large crowd on centre court.

It was the second time Murray appeared on court on Thursday, having completed his rain-delayed second-round match against Frenchman Nicolas Mahut only hours earlier.

Matosevic’s loss left Lleyton Hewitt as the only Australian man standing at the Wimbledon lead-up tournament.

Murray will meet German Benjamin Becker in the quarter-finals on Friday.
