Nadal cruises into Acapulco tennis semis

Rafael Nadal will face American Taylor Fritz in the Mexican Open final in Acapulco.

The Spanish world No.2 has booked his place in Sunday’s decider with a 6-3 6-2 win over Bulgaria’s Grigor Dimitrov.

While top-seeded Nadal cruised to a straight-sets victory, Fritz was made to earn his ticket in a 2-6 7-5 6-3 win over compatriot John Isner.

In Santiago, top seed Christian Garin was forced to retire from his Chile Open quarter-final against Brazilian Thiago Seyboth Wild.

The 182-ranked Wild will meet Argentine qualifier Renzo Olivo in the last four after upset sixth seed Hugo Dellien in straight sets.

In the other semi-final, Spain’s Albert Ramos-Vinolas will face Casper Ruud of Norway.
