Samantha Stosur has extended her winning run with a first-up victory in the rich WTA Rogers Cup tournament in Toronto.
Fresh from her title win at the Carlsbad tournament in California on Sunday, 12th seed Stosur was pushed before beating Israel’s Julia Glushko 5-7 6-2 6-3 on Tuesday to reach the third round.
Stosur is coming off confidence-boosting wins over world No.4 Agnieszka Radwanska and world No.2 Victoria Azarenka in Carlsbad as she prepares for the US Open toward the end of the month.
